Stretch Mark Reduction
SKIN+ By Dianna
Microneedling has been clinically shown to fade the appearance of scarring including stretch marks. Derma rollers gently open collagen fibers at the surface as they glide over the skin by breaking up the tough, stringy fibers that make up scar tissue. Your body also recognizes the minor physical changes introduced by the microneedles, and initiates a healing response. New, stronger, more elastic fibers replace the scar tissue, making your skin look smoother and feel more flexible.
When a person’s body expands rapidly, such as when they are pregnant or bodybuilding, they can develop stretch marks on their skin. If you have visible white stretch marks that you wish to improve, this treatment will help to diminish the appearance of stretch marks. When the middle layer of skin stretches too quickly, some of its collagen fibers can break. This allows underlying blood vessels to show through, leaving behind the telltale red or purplish marks.
Stretch marks are particularly sudden reminders of the rollercoaster our bodies’ endure from diet, age and pregnancy.
The concept of Microneedling is based on the skin’s natural ability to repair itself whenever it encounters physical damage such as cuts, burns and other abrasions. Immediately after an injury to the skin our body reuses the damaged collagen and elastin fibres as well as other damaged skin components to produce new ones.
Microneedling allows for controlled induction of the skin’s self repair mechanism by creating micro-“injuries” in the skin which triggers new collagen synthesis. The result is smoother, firmer and younger looking skin.
Microneedling is process carried out with a dermaroller or micro needling device that is covered with numerous tiny needles. These needles penetrate the upper layers of skin to a depth of up to 0.5 mm -1.5 mm (depending on the needle length used). This process has two major benefits. It effectively stimulates collagen formation at the same time as providing a clear channel for topical serums to be absorbed more effectively through the top layer (epidermis) of skin. Microneedling creates a very minor (almost microscopic) trauma which lasts for a short period of time and does not result in bruising or swelling in the treated area. Skin Needling or Micro-Needling is a form of Collagen Induction Therapy which is intended to smooth wrinkles, and improve depressed acne scarring.
Mesotherapy cocktails have a unique combination of essential vitamins, minerals and enzymes that are required for skin rejuvenation.
Microneedling is an effective form of rejuvenation, tackling scarring, such as acne scars or stretch marks, dark spots and freckles caused by the sun, as well as skin laxity, wrinkles, and large pores.
